A Prayer for Open Doors

For the door you have been knocking on.

✦ The Prayer ✦

Father of every good gift, I have been knocking on a door for a long time. Praying for the breakthrough, the yes, the opening. Today I ask You to open it — if it is Your will, in Your timing, in the way that serves my soul best. And if the door remains closed for now, give me the peace to trust that You are keeping something better, and the eyes to see the doors that are open around me. You are my Shepherd. I lack nothing. Amen.

Why this prayer, today.

Prosperity, in Scripture, is not the absence of need. It is the certainty that God provides — sometimes lavishly, sometimes quietly, always faithfully.

There is a specific ache in waiting for a door to open. The prayer that goes up night after night. The silence that answers back.

The Shepherd of the twenty-third Psalm does not always take us out of the valley. He walks it with us, until the door opens in His time.
