Father of every family, You know the name I carry tonight. The child who has drifted. The relationship that has cooled. The one I love who is walking a road I cannot walk with them. Guard them. Even when I cannot reach them, You can. Even when they do not pray, I pray for them. Send someone into their path today — a word, a face, a silence — that brings them one step closer to You. And give me the peace to keep loving, even when I do not see the fruit. Amen.

Why this prayer, today.

Family love is the deepest love — and often the most painful. To pray for a family member who is struggling, drifting, or in pain is one of the oldest and most sacred acts of love.

Saint Monica prayed for her son Augustine for seventeen years before he came back. She never saw the answer coming. And then she did.
